Summary: Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), the famous symbologist, follows a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.

Ron Howard

Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Ben Foster

“Once upon a time, this wackiness had some novelty value. Now it’s tedious”

The Guardian, Peter Bradshaw

THE BUZZ: Everyone has a guilty pleasure, and one of mine, I admit, is a good old Dan Brown/Robert Langdon caper, where past and present intermingle to provide entertainingly plausible conspiracy theories for what lurks just beneath the day-to-day. Tom Hanks returns as Harvard symbologist Langdon, in this latest edition joined by Felicity Jones, as the pair traverse Italy in an attempt to stop a madman’s plot to unleash a devastating virus upon the globe. With Ron Howard at the helm, Florence in the background, and a little Dante to boot, I’m expecting a fast-paced, visually stunning escape. – Bret

An in-depth look at the legendary punk band, The Stooges.
rated-thumbs-UP+DOWN_2Summary: Emerging from Ann Arbor Michigan amidst a countercultural revolution, The Stooges’ powerful and aggressive style of rock-n-roll blew a crater in the musical landscape of the late 1960s. Assaulting audiences with a blend of rock, blues, R&B, and free jazz, the band planted the seeds for what would be called punk and alternative rock in the decades that followed. Jim Jarmusch’s Gimme Danger chronicles the story of The Stooges, one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time, presenting the context of the Stooges emergence musically, culturally, politically, historically, and relating their adventures and misadventures while charting their inspirations and the reasons behind their initial commercial challenges, as well as their long-lasting legacy.

Jim Jarmusch

Iggy Pop, Ron Asheton, Mike Watt, Scott Asheton

Watch Trailer:

“Jarmusch’s film is a strictly conventional affair that resembles any number of TV documentaries”

The Film Stage | Giovanni Marchini Camia

THE BUZZ: As Chrissie Hynde expressed in her recent memoir, The Stooges truly are the quintessential American rock ‘n’ roll band. The chance to watch and listen to the indefatigable Iggy Pop about the band’s origins, ethos, and their initial trio of studio albums – which are still vital to this day – makes me anxious to view the documentary on the biggest screen with huge sound. – Arno

rated-thumbs-UP+DOWN_2Summary: From the Academy Award®-winning producers of Amy and Senna comes this essential and entertaining look at the meteoric rise of the seminal 90s rock band Oasis. The film immerses us in the raucous rock stars’ fast-paced world of electrifying music, wild debauchery, and epic fraternal feuding, weaving never-before-seen concert footage with candid interviews and an astonishing firsthand account of the backstage sibling rivalry that threatened to destroy the band.

Mat Whitecross

Paul Arthurs, Christine Biller, Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher

Watch Trailer:

“Smartly cutting off before the long decline, this is an epic story, beautifully told”

Time Out London | Tom Huddleston

THE BUZZ: No disrespect but no documentary on Oasis will be as entertaining and insightful as the Gallagher Brothers’ ongoing Twitter war.
